Our Meet & Greet model brings volunteers and families together in person before the work begins. This single practice produced a 275% increase in “Natural Relationships” — friendships that outlast the formal referral, where volunteers and parents choose to stay in each other’s lives long after Safe Families steps back.

Your $100/month funds a full quarter of wraparound support for one family: relational presence, volunteer coordination, staff time, and practical resources. Sequoias are the most enduring trees on earth — and Sequoia donors are the most enduring partners in our mission. At $250/month ($3,000/year), you sponsor more than half of one family’s complete journey through Safe Families. All Strong Roots Club members are invited.

Join us each December for an intimate evening of cocktails and appetizers to celebrate the families we’ve served together, honor our volunteer community, and look ahead to the year to come. This is our way of saying thank you — in person, face to face, the same way we do everything at Safe Families.

Safe Families Racine/Kenosha invested $210,000 in 2025. Our community — through volunteers, donors, and church partners — turned that investment into $4.9 million in impact. That is the power of roots.

Safe Families is Evidence-Based

In June 2024, Safe Families for Children received the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare (CEBC) rating of “Promising Research Evidence” — the highest possible rating achievable with one completed evaluation, and the leading standard for evidence-based practice in child welfare.

An independent randomized control trial confirmed:

SFFC is a safe and effective intervention for keeping families out of the foster care system
SFFC is as safe as standard services when children remain at home during a maltreatment investigation
SFFC is an effective intervention for reunifying children with their parents
