Dear community,

2026 has been quite a year for our organization, as it has been for any and every advocate working relentlessly to make San Francisco a city where everyone can feel safe, be healthy, and live with agency. Despite all the obstacles that have been thrown in our path we have managed to continue growing our care network. Safer Care is slated to save 200 lives from opioid overdose before the end of this year. Safer Air is slated to distribute its 1000th SAFE Box to a family who needs and deserves to breathe clean air. We know we can get to where we all need to be, because you are on our side.

Community care includes the confidence to reach out and ask for help. To get through to the end of 2026 we’ll need your help so that our team can continue saving lives. As we spend the next few months sharing with you how we’ve been living out our values, we hope you’ll take time to contribute whatever you can and play a direct role in cultivating our community care network. It doesn’t have to be as huge as administering Naloxone - it can be something small but certainly meaningful.

The beauty of the situation is how a little bit truly goes a long way. Monthly contributions in smaller amounts can come together to make a profound difference.

Even fifty a month can achieve so much:
-Keep our street outreach running by funding 25 Safe use kits
-Help a family breathe by covering the cost of one SAFE Box
-Promote community-based healing through funding 25 wound care kits
-Widen our reach through boosting our social media posts for one week
-Cultivate friendships through funding two Recovery4Health peer support sessions

These are just five of the ways a small amount can make an immediate difference. And yet we know deep down, there’s nothing small about it - certainly not when our community comes together to make a bunch of small contributions consistently, toward an impact that saves tons and tons of lives.
