Thread Up Oxford, through its secondhand shop, Uptown Threads, provides affordable clothing and household textiles such as blankets, towels, and linens to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship or emergency situations. Since 2021, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has fulfilled this mission through direct service and partnerships with community organizations throughout the Oxford area and beyond.

Since the beginning of 2026, more than $8,000 worth of clothing and household textiles (valued at thrift store prices) has been provided through our Karma Bucks voucher program, helping community members access essential items with dignity and choice.

While sales at Uptown Threads generate approximately half of our operating revenue, the other half comes from grants and financial contributions from community members who believe in our mission. Summer is traditionally a challenging time for Oxford organizations and businesses due to the seasonal decline in local activity and retail traffic. For organizations like ours, this creates a significant funding gap just as community needs continue.

Today, we are asking for your help. Our immediate goal is to raise $2,935 to cover July's rent and ensure that Thread Up Oxford can continue serving our community. Every financial contribution, no matter the size, helps keep affordable clothing available, supports our Karma Bucks program, and allows us to continue redistributing donated textiles to those who need them most.
