- Participants buy squares on the grid until all squares are filled or the game begins. Each square is equal to one entry in the game, and each square is randomly assigned.

- After all the squares are filled, numbers 0-9 are randomly assigned to the rows and columns through a random number generator. These numbers represent the last digit of the score for each team.
