ABOUT THE MODERATOR

Dr. Crystal I. Lee
Owner of LA Concierge Psychologist and The Clinician Coach; Psychologists of Color Vice President, Board of Directors; & Disability Community Resource Center Board Member

Through her boutique group practice, Dr. Lee provides neurodiversity-affirmative care for autistic adults and adult ADHD-ers. She also specializes in adult autism assessments, focusing on identifying autism in overlooked populations, such as communities of color and gender expansive people.

ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Dr. Wayne Aoki
Board of Directors, Los Angeles Christian Health Centers

Dr. Wayne Aoki is the retired Mental Health Director of the Los Angeles Christian Health Centers (LACHC), serving the homeless and underserved of Los Angeles. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of LACHC. He had previously held positions as an associate professor and Director of Training at the School of Psychology at Fuller Seminary and was the former Director of Clinical Services at The Sycamores, a residential treatment program for children.

Dr. Priscilla Barajas
Director of Professional Development at The Help Group & Licensed Psychologist at LA Concierge Psychologist

Dr. Barajas has spent over 15 years training and supervising doctoral level psychology graduate students. As the Former Senior Director of Psychology Training at The Help Group, she oversaw the APA accredited psychology internship. She has a passion for supervising, mentoring, and training within a community mental health setting. In addition to psychology training, Dr. Barajas has expertise in family systems, culturally informed interventions, evidence-based treatment for trauma, anxiety, and depression, and neurodiverse affirmative practices.

Dr. Vindia G. Fernandez
Director of Pediatric Neuropsychology, UCLA Cultural Neuropsychology Program & Founder/Director of the Center for Pediatric Neuropsychology

In 2017, Dr. Fernandez founded the Center for Pediatric Neuropsychology in part to address the growing need for culturally and linguistically appropriate evaluations for Latino/a children. She is the director of pediatric neuropsychology at the UCLA Cultural Neuropsychology Program and collaborates with the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health on program development and training. Her specialty training includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults with neurodevelopmental issues including autism, epilepsy, ADHD, and learning disabilities as well as schizophrenia-spectrum disorders.

Dr. Kandice Timmons
Mental Health Consultant, LA Job Corps Center

Dr. Kandice Timmons is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Consultant for the Los Angeles Job Corps Center. She serves as the primary supervisor of the practicum training program at LA Job Corps that provides mental health services to transitional aged youth (16-24). She is cognizant of the importance of working within and understanding the intersectionality that influences our individual experiences and utilizes her skills to address different obstacles and to help facilitate change.
