What’s Breach's Date-a-Book Fundraiser all about?

Beginning June 1st, Breach the Surface will be hosting a Date-a-Book Fundraiser alongside partnering vendors to raise money toward improving local ocean literacy rates. The funds will contribute to our educational program Shellphone, a student-hosted podcast providing equitable and accessible educational content while creating a space for educators and activists to share their ocean conservation tactics.

Shellphone is an extension of 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Breach (EIN #85-3181426), and is powered through the generous donations from our community members and partners. The Date-a-Book fundraiser is asking for a tax-deductible donation of $4 in exchange for one of our wrapped ocean, environmental, climate, and/or advocacy based books.

How Donation Collection Works

Simply pick your donation method from the QR code placed on each book, select your donation amount (min $4), and show your screen to a nearby staff person. Some of our Date-a-Book vendor locations are offering cash collection–ask a staff person for more details.
