Dear friends,

For my 40th birthday in December, I'm asking for donations to the Downtown Women's Center. I've served on staff with DWC for the past two years as the Director of Donor Relations and Events. DWC is a place that has shown up for me over the last few years -- DWC not only serves women experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, but it places a strong emphasis on supporting everyone who works there.

As you know, this year has not been an easy one for me -- a difficult health challenge, parenting through a pandemic, walking with loved ones through loss, pain and struggle. Yet, time and again, my work at DWC has grounded me. It has reminded me of grace, love, truth and beauty.

I recently started returning to our office in Skid Row once a week. And, I was reminded of the beauty of the Downtown Women's Center. I reunited with residents who I hadn't seen in 18 months. I introduced myself to new staff who joined us during the pandemic, and I enjoyed tasty meals served three times daily to the the women we serve.
