Connecting students to the living world, one school garden at a time.

Growing Together builds school gardens and farms at Title 1 public schools across the East Bay.

This year that meant serving 49 schools across four districts, reaching 11,590 students with regular hands on science & nutrition education, and 9,200 pounds of food grown on school farms for cafeteria lunches. We sent another 250,000 pounds of fresh produce home to families, planted 150 trees on campuses and 280 more at students' homes, and turned 20,000 square feet of asphalt & unused campus space into living green schoolyards. Most of our budget comes from grants and contracts, and that money is spoken for before it arrives. Gifts like yours are different. They're the dollars that let us plan past the next grant cycle, say yes when a new school asks, and start the programs nobody will fund yet: a new school farm, a tree planted at a family's home, a field trip for kids who've never had one. Your donations are worth more than their dollar amount - they allow us to think longer term, feel more abundant, and to lean more boldly into our values :)

A note on the suggested amounts: they're close approximations, not price tags. Costs vary school to school, and every gift goes where it's needed most.
