"Live Healthy Kids was a deeply impactful component of my AmeriCorps service and that experience continues to inform the way that I eat and share food, the work and education that I'm pursuing, and the connection that I have with the Athens community. LHK provided the point of entry for my work with kids and through the program I learned how rewarding it is to learn and grow alongside children. So many students each year were ecstatic to share that their parents and them had picked out one of our recipes for dinner over the weekend. Ever since, I've prioritized being able to connect with youth in my work by facilitating other skill-building and education groups and am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work to that end.
