Shootout is inspired by the energy and authenticity of real women’s hockey, from the Professional Women’s Hockey League to the passion of Olympic competition. The film is an emotionally grounded, character-driven story centered around leadership pressure, identity, and the emotional weight of competitive sports culture. It follows a hockey captain secretly hiding a worsening knee injury from both her team and wife after a devastating championship loss.

Funds raised will help us bring Shootout to life at the level the story deserves. Your support will cover ice rink and location costs, hockey equipment and jerseys, production design, camera and sound needs, transportation, meals for cast and crew, and post-production expenses like editing, sound design, color, and festival submissions. Every contribution supports passionate student artists creating an authentic women-led hockey story.

Shootout is a project close to our hearts. As student filmmakers and hockey lovers, we’re creating the kind of women’s hockey story we rarely see: one that’s authentic, emotional, and deeply human. Every donation, share, and word of support helps bring this story to life. Thank you for helping us tell a women-led sports story both on and off the ice!
