“I’ve never been to a museum where the conversation was the exhibit.”
As one visitor recently noted, the Tenement Museum offers a unique experience, enabling visitors to encounter the stories of diverse immigrant, migrant, and refugee families, on educator-led tours. By welcoming visitors into the homes of residents who lived in the tenements from the 1860s to the 1980s, our tours not only inspire connections between past and present but also to one another. Together we explore the complexities of history to build a more inclusive and expansive American society.
As the year draws to a close, please consider supporting our work to build learning and inspire reflection on what it means to be American. By making a gift today, you invest in the Tenement Museum’s future, enabling us to remain steadfast in our efforts to build empathy and foster community -- one tenement family story at a time.
Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of our Tenement family. We wish you a joyful and peaceful new year!
