Artportunity Knocks was never just an idea. It started with a calling.

In 2007, inside a small two bedroom apartment in Smyrna, Georgia, a few young people gathered with a desire to learn, create, and be seen. What began with just three students quickly grew into something undeniable. Within months, that living room was filled with over 40 young people, all searching for opportunity, direction, and purpose through the arts.

That moment sparked a movement.

Today, Artportunity Knocks has impacted over 300,000 youth and families across Metro Atlanta, providing safe spaces, creative outlets, mentorship, and real pathways to future careers. From in school and afterschool programs and summer camps with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) focus approach highlighting music technology, esports, film, and leadership development, we meet young people where they are and help guide them to where they are meant to be.

But the need has not gone away. It has grown.

Several of the communities we serve face challenges like food insecurity, lack of access to enrichment programs, and limited exposure to career opportunities. For families, our programs are more than activities. They are lifelines that provide safety, structure, hope and belonging.
