The Sexual Violence Prevention Association is a nonprofit dedicated to preventing sexual violence systemically. We work within three pillars - policy, research, and institutions which include workplaces and universities.

We’ve developed the first and only assessment for campus sexual violence practices. We use artificial intelligence to analyze university policies, programs, and procedures for supporting survivors and preventing sexual violence. Then we publish their SVPA Score publically. This empowers students to choose the school that will best protect them. It also pressures universities to improve while providing the data they need to do so.

We’re in the early stages of expanding the SVPA Score to include companies, businesses, and other workplaces.

We provide research insights to universities and workplaces regarding best practices for supporting survivors and preventing sexual violence.

Our research often informs our legislative advocacy. Recently, we published research about how survivors of campus sexual violence are burdened with higher student loans. This is often because they must change classes, transfer schools, or take a leave of absence. This research led to our advocacy for canceling student loan debt.

We also advocate for Title IX reform. Last June, our Founder and CEO testified before the Department of Education advocating for Title IX to include the prevention of sexual violence in higher education as well as elementary, middle, and high schools. They will be testifying again later this year.

Also, we created the Survivors For Abolition movement. This is a grassroots movement of survivors advocating for police abolition and reforming the criminal legal system.

Lastly, we developed a state policy to counteract rape culture and prevent child sexual abuse in K-12 schools. In the long term, we plan to pass this nationwide.
