South Wood County Neighbors for Responsible Development (SWCNRD) is a completely volunteer, non-partisan community action group of concerned citizens located in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. There is no big budget behind us, no corporate backing, no "out-of-state agitators", no paid staff. We are your fellow neighbors - people that live here, who drink this water & breathe this air, who swim in our local rivers & lakes, whose kids go to school here, who love this place that we call home - and who refused to stay silent.

Our mission is to bring awareness, transparency, accountability, advocacy, and education to any new developments happening in Wisconsin Rapids and surrounding communities. We will represent our fellow neighbors by defending our environment and the Wisconsin River, which is the lifeblood of our state. We value the health and safety of our community, water, land, air, and wildlife.

Your donation goes directly toward our work: community education & supplies, organizing support, and any foreseeable legal challenges. We want to make sure no one in our community has to ever face these fights alone. We are in favor of responsible economic development, but do not feel hyperscale data centers are a responsible choice for our community. Data centers, transmission lines, and large industrial projects are being proposed across Wisconsin with little transparency and minimal input from the people who will actually live with the consequences. We show up. We ask the hard questions. We build the coalitions needed to hold decision-makers accountable.

None of that is possible without people like you standing behind it.
