Sweet Pea Startup Fund
Hi! My name is Sable, and I am the founder of Sweet Pea.
My goal with this campaign is to raise the startup funds for my business, which is going to be a café & philanthropy shop that focuses on parenthood.
The café will be parenthood themed from the names of food & beverages to the setup of the establishment. I intend to make it a 100% child-friendly environment from portable bassinets to use while there so kids don't have to sleep in their car seats to play areas for all ages to a buggy corral and more! Additionally, I will be providing parenting resources, help families find support programs as needed, and hosting parent groups to start an open dialog surrounding various parenting themes & concepts.
The philanthropy shop will be 100% donation based, and will not take profit on that side of the business. It will be a "shop" where families can pick up free supplies from prenatal/postnatal care for mom to diapers & wipe to clothes & toys to nursery furniture & more! The items we will take in will be sustainably focused, 100% safe, and will follow all regulations of their respective agencies. We also accept monetary donations so we can purchase the products we need most. The goal is to help take away some of the stress for families who may be worried about any number of things.
Regardless of which side of the business, my goal is to create an inclusive environment for parents and children. Parenthood is hard, and not just the part about raising kids. The constant judgement and opinions of others, the new information constantly coming out about child development and safety, and constant worries about whether you are doing what is best for your child. Instead, at Sweet Pea, the mission is to help guide parents to follow their child's cues, trust their parental instincts and choices, and break this idea that it is okay to shame or blame parents for choices that are rightfully theirs to make.
Sweet Pea is not just a café & philanthropy shop. It will be a community, a safe space, and an open conversation for parents no matter which part of their parenting journey they are on.
