From Numbers to Names: Help Us Give Them a New Beginning

After months of investigation, nearly 70 neglected horses were seized from a failed rescue in Ocala, Florida—many found severely underweight, standing in unsafe and heartbreaking conditions.

Since November, these horses have been in protective care, slowly recovering under the watch of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

Now, six of them have arrived at South West Florida Horse Rescue.

We currently know them only by numbers:
#51, #49, #47, #69, #80, and #68.

But they are so much more than that.

These horses came from a life where they were unseen, unhandled, and underserved. As part of an unhandled herd, they will need time, patience, and expert training to build trust and begin again. With the help of our dedicated team, they’ll finally experience safety, care, and compassion.

And now, they need something just as important as food and medical care:

They need names.

Names represent identity. Dignity. A fresh start.
