2024 Holiday Donations
October 2024
Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well! As we reflect on the positive impact we've achieved together, we are reminded of the crucial role that supporters like you play in our mission. Allow me to share a narrative written by one of our women who just recently successfully completed our program.
My name is Natalie. I am a 37-year-old mother of three boys ages 5, 4 and almost 2. Several years ago, I began struggling with substance use issues which subsequently led to my divorce. I had my third son a short time later amid my addiction. My older sons ended up with my ex-husband and I eventually became incarcerated because of my drug use. My mother took care of my youngest son for seven months. After getting out of jail I knew I needed help and that I couldn’t beat my addiction alone. That’s when I called New Hope Manor.
The Mother/Infant Program made it possible for my youngest son to join for my entire stay in treatment. During my time here, I have done intensive therapy to heal past trauma that contributed to my addiction and learned parenting skills through groups such as Nurturing Parenting and The Whole Brainchild, which have educated me about effective and healthy parenting techniques, communication, child development, emotions and nurturing as a lifestyle. The dedicated and competent staff allowed me to focus on my recovery whole heartedly daily and took excellent care of my son. His growth and development have benefitted greatly since his time in New Hope Manor’s daycare. I have had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the Mother/Infant program coordinator weekly to address any concerns and ensure that my needs, as well as my son’s needs are always met.
The program here has taught me to not only how to overcome this disease and to be the best mom I can be, but that anything is possible if you turn your will and life over to God to seek help from people who truly care about mothers, children and families. I plan to leave here after completing the program with my son to our new apartment. I have also been given the tools to mend broken relationships with my older children and will continue to grow as a mother to them upon discharge.
Programs like New Hope Manor not only save lives, but they also teach women to be better mothers and reunite with children who need them. I will be forever grateful.
Natalie is one of many success stories here at New Hope Manor. Please use the form on the next page and continue to support our vital work. Thank you for investing in the women of the manor!
Warmly,
Sarah Eilbacher
