Rob has been incarcerated for nearly nine years. He last saw his daughter in July and says visits and phone calls are what keep them bonded. When he first heard about the Father-Daughter Dance, he says he was “excited — it gave me something to look forward to, something I don’t have on a day-to-day basis.”
In prison, Rob has missed so much — from kindergarten to seventh grade, sports, and all the daily moments of watching his kids grow. “I love them. I miss them. I never meant to leave them,” he says. “If I could change the whole situation, I would.”
He’s never worn a suit before, and wearing one for the first time feels meaningful. “It’ll be exciting to take a picture with them that’s different than being in a visitation room,” he says. Above all, he wants his children to know one thing after the dance: “No matter what, I love them.”
Give today to help Rob share an unforgettable night with his daughter!
