We need to upgrade! Pokey's Place for years has been running with very old security cameras. Some that work, some that don't.

Upgrading will allow Pokey's to be more safe and secure.

Recently, a dog was left tied up at the front of the building to be found in the morning by one of our loving kennel technicians. Having better cameras would allow volunteers to see how this dog was left and by who. Luckily, NCHS volunteers cleaned Keller up and helped him overcome his fear of being abandoned and found him a new furever home!

Having more cameras in all of our cat rooms and the dog kennel area will also allow volunteers to keep an eye on all the animals when no one is present in the building. This can help answer a lot of questions when an animal gets sick when no one is around.

The safety of all NCHS cats and dogs in our care is our number one priority and this is just one way we are improving Pokey's in 2024 to make sure this always happens!
