WNC Long-Term Recovery

When Hurricane Helene tore through Western North Carolina in September 2024, it left a trail of destruction across mountain communities that are still struggling to recover. Roads washed away. Homes were destroyed. Entire neighborhoods were left without power, water, or communication. While the headlines have moved on, the need hasn’t.

Grounded Boots Relief was born out of that storm. We’ve been on the ground since day one—clearing roads, delivering essentials, and reaching the homes no one else could. Now, we’re in it for the long haul.

This campaign will directly fund long-term recovery efforts for communities in Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, Buncombe, and surrounding counties impacted by Helene. Your donation helps us:

  • Rebuild and repair driveways, roads, and access routes destroyed by floodwaters

  • Provide materials and supplies like gravel, lumber, and fuel for volunteer-led restoration work

  • Coordinate skilled volunteer crews alongside local heroes rebuilding homes and waterways

  • Support families still displaced or living in compromised housing

  • Expand our hub operations and keep boots on the ground in places still recovering, long after the news cycle has moved on

We're a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every dollar is tax-deductible and goes to where it’s needed most: rebuilding lives and restoring communities. We work with transparency, accountability, and a relentless commitment to the people of Western North Carolina.

If you’re looking for a way to help your neighbors rebuild—not just survive—this is it.

Stand with us. Rebuild with us.
