Support Bucky and Layna This Giving Tuesday
This Giving Tuesday, we need your help for two brave animals, Bucky and Layna, both of whom are on their journey to recovery after losing a leg.
Meet Bucky
Bucky was found as a stray with an injured leg and in poor health. After being brought to the shelter, it was clear he needed immediate medical attention. Hillsdale Animal Hospital diagnosed him with a serious infection that had reached his joint. Despite ups and downs, Bucky's condition required the amputation of his back right leg to save his life. His incredible will to survive, coupled with the unwavering care from the vet tech and vet who took him home for 24/7 monitoring, has kept him going. Today, Bucky is still recovering, but his fighting spirit is inspiring.
Meet Layna
Layna was also a stray who ended up at the animal shelter with an injured back left leg. Emergency care at Animal Hospital of East Davie revealed she had been shot, and the bullet fragments severely damaged her leg. After weeks of treatment and minimal healing, the decision was made to amputate her leg to prevent further complications. Layna, a lively husky, is now with a knowledgeable foster family who is ensuring she gets the care she needs. Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, and we are hopeful for a smooth recovery.
