This film will do more than chronicle Tacoma’s journey. It will also demonstrate that Tacoma is a viable location for film production, serving as a tool to attract national and international creative producers to the city.

Grit Meets Destiny will showcase Tacoma's cultures, histories, and aspirations to demonstrate its ultimate creative potential for economic and cultural development.

The City of Tacoma has unanimously passed a resolution endorsing and partially funding this film, approving $15,000.

This article summarizes the larger vision for Tacoma to become a global creative hub, as articulated by the film's producer, Syed K. Jamal.

The film will feature a diverse range of locations and community spaces, from waterfronts and public parks to college campuses and local businesses, alongside organizations such as Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, McMenamins, the Washington State History Museum, the Boys & Girls Club, and other small, medium, and large businesses. We also wish to showcase Tacoma's trains, Link Light Rail, and community-centric spaces like our farmers' market and art festivals.

By incorporating these spaces and their stories, Grit Meets Destiny will present a warm and welcoming invitation to creative producers to visit Tacoma and build in Tacoma.
