I would not be halfway through law school without LEAP! This program opens doors for students from diverse backgrounds and intersecting communities. It helps provide an equitable law school application process for those deserving of an opportunity to pursue one of the most difficult and prestigious professions.
My passion for social change began in high school when I spent time educating low-income families on election propositions, fighting against teacher layoffs, and relaying the importance of social activism to my high school peers. I often organized, rallied for, and championed education equity. Now, as a leader in my community, I find myself in a position to advocate in a deeper way. In a country that has promoted freedom and the American dream, I struggle to see justice in the communities around me. I have seen the system forget about the people who look like me and ignore those who are disadvantaged in our society.
