Camp Takodah Relief Fund

COVID forced Takodah to close for a week this summer after a spike in cases among our Boys Camp leaders.

In closing for a week, we prioritized the health of our campers, their families, and staff over the financial health of the Takodah YMCA. As a result, projections show Takodah facing a potential $115,000 deficit this year, which would mark our first deficit in nearly 15 years.

Your past support helped Takodah keep operating despite the financial loss. But the $115,000 deficit hurts our ability to keep doing what you have come to expect from us.

Like helping Zack:

Like many campers, Zack had a hard school year. He missed his camp friends, didn’t have much fun, and felt lonely. When Zack arrived for camp, he said coming back to Takodah felt awesome:

Driving down the camp road to get here is one of the greatest feelings. Being out in the woods, you can kind of escape the world. Everyone is kind to each other, and they’re all amazing friends. I know it sounds cliché and everyone says it, but it really is friendly to all. I can just be myself. This is the place where I’m truly happy.
