Tattered Paws is excited to launch our “Tali Gives a Toy” program! In honor of one of our beloved Tattered Paws Alums, Tali, who has terminal cancer. This program enables the rescue to send each newly adopted pup a toy in Tali’s honor (stuffies are his favorite after all). In turn, we ask that you consider paying it forward by donating to this fund to keep it going in the months and years to come!

Who is Tali?

Tali is a 12 year old Golden Retriever that once had a home in Türkiye. He overcame many odds including illness, physical abuse, and lack of veterinary care. Tali came to The Garden in rough shape and was ultimately adopted by Haley, who would later become a volunteer for our rescue. He made it out just in time before the ban went into effect in 2021. Haley and her husband John nursed Tali back to health and also began the journey of learning about and treating his positive Leishmaniasis diagnosis. When Tali first arrived, Haley started a “Tali Wants a Toy” drive where family and friends could join in and ship him stuffies, and this is where the idea was born. As we prepare our hearts for saying goodbye to Tali in the coming months, we wish to see his legacy carry on for years to come.
