In May of 2020, a group of individuals and members of justice organizations came together to realize a shared interest in creating a bail fund in Tallahassee, FL. Coming from different walks of life and organizing principles, we all realized the urgent need to provide bail relief to those who cannot afford it. We believe this need is urgent at all times, but especially when COVID-19 makes time in jail or prison an incredibly dangerous and unnecessary experience. Juneteenth 2020 was our first bail out, and in our first year we have bailed out nearly 30 people. We plan to build and grow in the years ahead and hope you will help us sustain this life-changing work.
