It is hard to believe 1 year ago I started the Farm Foundation internship to build my skills to grow fresh produce to share with my community. I could never have imagined how quickly things would happen.

My fellow farmer Josie and I shared a similar vision of building community and sharing our passion for wellness with others. We applied for the incubator program not thinking much would come of it. But the universe had different plans. We have officially been offered 1/4 acre of land to lease for the 2023 season.

In a short period of time we have had to figure out what local permits and licenses are needed. We have submitted our application for IRS tax-exempt status which is needed for many grant opportunities. But even with the status, grants can take time.

We urgently need funds to break ground and start sowing! The following items are needed for a successful growing season to support our community:

High tunnel that will help us grow tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers.
Drip irrigation kit
Row covers for delicate plants
Building materials to build mobile farmer stand
Securing insurance
Compost
Straw for weed management
Adaptable tools for all access to volunteer
Other supplies for produce distribution in the community
