This is my second year running the Philadelphia Marathon, and this year I am honored to fundraise for B Inspired Philadelphia! I grew up in a family of educators in the DC area, and taught ESL/ELL/EL and social studies for ten years before moving up to NYC where I'm currently working on my doctorate in Anthropology and Education at Columbia University. As a former public school student, I regularly participated in after-school activities, and I gained a lot of interests and experiences from them that I believe have made me a better, well-rounded person. Now as an educator, I recognize the value of quality after-school programming for supporting students' mental and physical well being, and I strongly believe that all students should be able to benefit from it! I'm really excited for this opportunity to contribute to such a worthy cause, and I hope that you can help me to help make a difference in some awesome kids' lives:)
