Kara’s Care Circle Support Fund

A direct way to support her caregivers.

In December 2024, Kara was diagnosed with Stage 4 Triple-Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Her cancer is aggressive and has spread to her bones and liver. Since then, our world has shifted in every way imaginable.

Kara is 30 year's old and has lived with developmental disabilities since she was born. This has made navigating cancer treatment especially complex. She doesn’t fully grasp what’s happening to her body—and her ability to express discomfort or symptoms is limited, making our role as interpreters, caregivers, and advocates for her incredibly important.

We’ve been overwhelmed (in the best way) by how many people have asked to help - and after a lot of hesitation, we’ve created this space to make that possible.

Fortunately Kara has great insurance and we are not in financial need to cover any medical expenses. Also, Kara receives SSI, and as such, she cannot accept direct donations. This campaign is not a plea for emergency funds - but a way to offer support if you’ve felt moved to do so.

This fund is specifically to support the people caring for her day-to-day, so that we can stay close, take time off work when needed, and create the most comfort as possible in her world. That might mean purchasing comfort items, home care support, or simply making space for rest.
