Teen Court Senior Night Celebration
Wednesday from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM EDT
This event will be livestreamed on our Givebutter page: https://givebutter.com/teencourtsarasota
This year, virtually, eleven teens will share how Teen Court impacted their lives, helped them through a tough time, become a better public speaker, pursue a law degree or simply to help their peers. Come as you are! Join us for an hour on your cell phone or computer. No camera required. Gather your family and friends to experience the evening.
For over 30 years, Teen Court of Sarasota has been giving kids in our community a second chance to right their wrong. We operate as a community-based alternative to the traditional juvenile court system and work closely with our local school system to encourage positive changes in behavior for our youth.
Parents: Teen Court services are structured as a prevention piece for parents that are starting to see red flags with their child’s choices. A parent referral allows for a youth to receive meaningful consequences, a referral to services and positive redirection for a successful future.
Schools: School Referrals from administration or school board police are an example of early intervention through a Teen Court referral. Often the first people to see red flags from a student are adults on a school campus. A referral to Teen Court from an administrator means the school, Teen Court and the student can work hand and hand with wrap around services to positively redirect the student through these challenging times.
Law Enforcement: Law Enforcement officers on the scene of an incident can refer a family to Teen Court for services. Any time a youth is referred to Teen Court the doors of opportunity open with the range of support that Teen Court has to offer. This helps not only the family but also the law enforcement officer from having to see the officer again.
Any amount donated to our organization will impact the youth and families we serve that otherwise would not be able to afford it.
$10 will help students with transportation barriers (Uber, Bus Pass, Gas Card)
$40 will buy clothing for those in need of shoes, tie, pants, shirt, or skirt for court room attire
$75 will pay for drinks & snacks for our monthly, Saturday CAMP X-RAYD program
$150 will provide any Unexpected Needs we find a family may be struggling with. This may include food, school supplies, household needs, or emergency needs.
$500 will provide WRAP AROUND SERVICES for one youth to receive our group classes, court costs, drug tests and mentorship.
