Every revolution started with research. Will you join the next one?

The field of trauma-informed care has a massive credibility problem. And we aim to fix it.

You can help by donating. Everything helps, and you can use your DAF to contribute.

Why? Too much of what passes for "trauma-informed care" is repackaged wellness culture with influencer branding, misleading claims about evidence-based interventions, and a 501(c)(3) determination letter. Decades of institutional gatekeeping and dishonest research has allowed misinformation to flourish online.

Meanwhile, the people most affected by trauma are struggling to meet basic needs, find supportive community, and stay connected to their culture and personal identity. People that struggle with executive functioning due to neurodivergence, chronic illness, and disability are being traumatized by systems that weren't built for them. And all of that is compounded by the collective trauma caused by intersectional vulnerability.

We're not here for that.

The Trauma & Executive Functioning Institute is building something different. We want to do what too many institutions claim is impossible: revolutionize and rebuild the health and human services systems. These systems are supposed to keep us all healthy, safe, and empowered to pursue happiness and economic opportunity. Instead, they're trapping people in intractable cycles of poverty, debt, malnutrition, and chronic trauma exposure.

It's not just a moral failing of our systems. These problems are contributing to an active public health crisis.

We're led by a group of people with lived experience, scientific training, and a deep respect for the truth. We won't sugarcoat our findings or let marketability shade how we translate research to the public. We do something much more radical: we tell the truth.

Your donation funds three things:

  • Peer-reviewed research on trauma, executive functioning, and systemic impact

  • Direct basic needs support for people navigating survival, not just "healing journeys"

  • Education and training that ground services in truly evidence-based, trauma-informed practice

We know it's ambitious and, frankly, a little cocky. But we know we can make a major difference with the help of people like us. Like you.
