T’ena Health is a Black and Woman-founded Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to eradicate health disparities through sharing resources, knowledge, and compassion. Operating for five years now, we value the connections we have made within the communities we serve so we may advocate for them to our fullest potential. We are actively building an ecosystem that empowers underserved communities to overcome systemic barriers through optimizing access to care, knowledge, and entry to healthcare professions. 

South and South Central LA are significantly under-resourced communities, especially in regard to accessible and quality healthcare. We knew we wanted to create change and combat this inequity, so we launched our Free Community Health Fairs. At these health fairs, we provide free health screenings, health education, medication consultation, and connections to resources. Since beginning this effort in September 2021, we have served over 2,000 individuals and look forward to serving more!

The Unity Project is our newest initiative to address the social determinants of health among the communities we serve. This initiative incorporates a thorough needs assessment followed by personalized referrals and applications to resources or services that address a person's particular needs. Notably, we have developed a thorough follow-up process to continuously check in with a person to ensure they have successfully obtained the support they were looking for.

So far, we have been able to serve multiple communities throughout Los Angeles County, Inland Empire, San Fernando Valley, and the San Francisco Bay Area. We have successfully impacted  45,000+ lives to date!
