The Tenement Museum’s 2025 Gala, will take place on Wednesday, May 7 at City Winery. We look forward to gathering to celebrate A City of Im/migrants: Holding Up the Torch.

We hope you will join us for this festive, one-of-a-kind evening to pay tribute to the rich diversity of people, cultures, and histories that help build and sustain a global city like New York. This year's Gala will honor three of the Museum's closest friends and partners:

Founder's Award: Andrew Berkman, Tenement Museum Trustee and real estate attorney
Gina Manuel Award: Dr. Elizabeth Alexander, President of the Mellon Foundation, renowned poet, and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist
Holding Up the Torch Award: Muzaffar Chishti, Senior Fellow at the non-partisan Migration Policy Institute

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00pm featuring a Lower East Side food marketplace. The hourlong seated program will start promptly at 7:30pm, followed by a dessert reception.
