The Terma Foundation implements humanitarian community-based health development programs to educate, treat and prevent illnesses impacting vulnerable communities in Tibet, Burma and Mexico. Focusing on women and children, these culturally appropriate and innovative programs include nutrition, health care delivery and infectious disease prevention and treatment while honoring cultural world views. Since its inception in 1993, Terma’s programs have touched over 1.5 million direct and indirect beneficiaries, giving hope to the most vulnerable and dispossessed for a thriving future.
Terma currently works in Tibet, Mexico and Burma. Our programs in Mexico—Fundación Astra—deliver integrated health services aimed at improving wellbeing in underserved communities by providing free acute and preventivecare, education and outreach in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
