My name is Marina, and I organize volunteers for a social project called Letters of Support Illinois. We write letters and sign birthday postcards for political prisoners in Russia and send them to let them know they are not forgotten.

Every month, we collect donations to cover logistics, stationery, envelopes, and paper. Currently, we are launching our 2025 annual fundraiser to make sure we can continue this important work all year long.

Volunteers not only send messages of solidarity but also share news and stories — political prisoners often live in an information vacuum, and these letters help them stay connected to the world outside.
