We’re all impacted by the people around us, and we are the way we are because of them. I'm resilient #becauseof many people, but foremost my mom. She has been my biggest cheerleader throughout my life helping me navigate challenges and changes as they come. She has also always been a safe place and my calm in any storm. Not many parents would spend the night in their college freshman's dorm room to help them overcome the first night jitters, but that's exactly what she did.

I'm also resilient #becauseof the many wonderful educators and coaches that I have been lucky enough to have throughout the years. From elementary cheerleading practice on the lawn of local baptist church to the middle school teacher who welcomed me back with open arms when I realized I made a mistake in switching schools, and the high school cheerleading coach who often believed in my subpar athletic abilities more than I did myself and the college professor who is completely responsible for turning me into the marketer that I am today.

Who taught you to be resilient? Will you donate in their honor to help other children learn resilience through their caregivers?

I'm a board intern this year for The Family Center in Nashville and fundraising for #GivingTuesday. The organization is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, certified by the state of TN as a Child Abuse Prevention provider, working to help families and their children become more resilient. The Family Center also works within organizations that support the most vulnerable families, so their staff becomes trauma-informed, helping the families they serve through more compassionate interactions.

The Family Center's mission and vision of breaking intergenerational cycles of childhood trauma and creating resilient communities where all children thrive is such important work that is near to my heart. My few years in parenthood have already been a constant learning experience and I love being a small part of helping other parents and caregivers on their parenting journeys.
