I’m resilient #becauseof my parents who have shown me how to navigate change throughout my life. Change is constant and inevitable, and I have the skills to face it head-on and come out with grace and success because of them. Who taught you to be resilient? Will you donate in their honor to help other children learn resilience through their caregivers?
I'm on the board and fundraising for The Family Center in Nashville. The organization is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, certified by the state of TN as a Child Abuse Prevention provider, working to help families and their children become more resilient. We also work within organizations that support the most vulnerable families, so their staff becomes trauma-informed, helping the families we serve through more compassionate interactions.
The Family Center's mission and vision of breaking multigenerational cycles of childhood trauma and creating resilient communities where all children thrive hits close to home for me. Being aware of how your childhood affects who you become makes you equipped to navigate adulthood in a healthy way and enables us to help families who need support in our community.
