Let's face it.
The hosts of THE GOOD ROAD are not exactly the most "camera ready" guides into the messy business of global do-goodery. The people that we meet however... well, they are always compelling. We have met a caravan of activists, chefs, raconteurs, romantics and dreamers on this chautauqua of goodness, and we want to continue telling their stories.

THE GOOD ROAD explores the complicated cocktail that is created when charity is introduced into a mixture of culture, politics, religion and history. It is also a pretty fun television project where most of the really, really interesting stuff happens off camera. So this combines everything that you do see in the show, with much of the behind-the-scenes foibles and frailties, partying and late night conversations between our hosts, the crew and the engaging cast of characters we meet along the way.

We need your help.

As a PBS show, we don't have anyone funding our lavish way of life (take a look at Earl's 20+ year old Jeep Wrangler, spray painted black for proof). So your financial assistance will bridge the production of the comic book, and the promotion required to tell these stories.

We expect to have the comic book done in time for holiday gift-giving.

Why a comic book?

This creative format allows us to tell the same stories in a completely different way. The viewer is not restricted to what shows up on the tv screen. We can offer a glimpse, a mere fragment of something ominous, paranoid and threatening. Like poetry or rock and roll, comics are part of the cultural continuum. In a few panels, it opens up vast narratives, and possibilities. What do we choose to expose or highlight? What proactive glimpses can we suggest? How can we allow the reader to fill in the blanks?

This first project is an aggregation of what we experienced in our early travels. It represents what we thought would best convey the story.
