A New Era - The Baton Passes On

The Porch is in a  new era and you are helping us usher it in. 

You came with us to The Mountaintop and we are not done climbing yet.  In a time of erasure and uncertainty, the baton passes on:  from one activist to the next; one artist to another; and from you to us. 

When you attend  a reading like The Meeting Tree, our critically acclaimed productions Ain’t No Mo and Her Portmanteau,; or one of our signature community events- you become part of the Porch Fam. The movement towards our future continues.  

And when YOU give to our annual campaign you help us continue to create theater that represents the truth, triumphs and legacy of Black communities around the world

This season we have a challenge – a group of donors will match all contributions received through December 31st up to $25,000. Please consider a year-end gift of $50.00 or more. Your year-end contribution can be doubled! Make that move before the year is out!

• A Main Stage Season that centers stories of resilience, legacy, and joy -  The Mountaintop (Boston Critics Pick) and  In Old Age- part of the Greater Boston Ufot Family Cycle

• Our Family Recipes Reading Series including the new Afro-Cuban musical  Cubamor with partners Teatro Chelsea; and The Wash, about the 1818 Atlanta Washerwoman Strikes; and our signature Holiday Feast. 

• A deep investment and expansion of The Porch- through Community Joy performances to our expanding Young Apprentice Program creating real work pipeline for emerging arts and culture professionals - we are looking forward to our 10th Season next year and commit to amplifying joy and hope for the entire Boston community
