The Prospect Hill Community Foundation provides academic and professional development services to residents of the Prospect Hill Terrace community in Waltham, MA.

Our flagship program, the after-school program, offers a safe and welcoming place for up to 35 participants daily, running Monday through Friday during after-school hours in the fall and spring. Participants have access to a healthy snack, homework help, and activity time, all while receiving social-emotional support and mentorship from local university students who students refer to as "college buddies". The program is overseen by an experienced, compassionate program director who works with families to understand their individual needs and interests for their child(ren). From spring of 2020 when we closed for the pandemic to reopening in fall of 2021, we had 100% retention of eligible participants (students grades K-6 living within the neighborhood). Participants also cite time with college buddies and making new friends as their favorite parts of the after-school program.

Prospect Hill Terrace is home to more than 140 families, many of whom are single-parent households making less than $23k per year. Our programming is free to participants and is supported by innovative public-private partnerships with organizations such as Bentley University, Brandeis University, the City of Waltham Municipal Departments and generous donors like you.
