It was in April 2022 when God spoke to Pastor Dana McDonald after visiting a local church here in Louisville, Kentucky. Pastor Dana made several visits and each time a word came across the pulpit. After confirmation from the Lord, Pastor Dana began speaking with Sister Nettie and Deacon Kenneth; then he spoke with Min. Robert Pondexter and his wife Sis. Carrie. This time, Pastor Dana made a decision to hold bible study and plan to start the church in January. After talking it over with Deacon Kenneth, he encouraged Pastor Dana that the time is now.
Our first meeting was set. Present in the first meeting was Sis. Joppa McDonald, Sis. Nettie Woods, Sis. Annette Bowman, Min. Robert and Sis. Carrie Pondexter and Deacon Kenneth Philpot. The church was then called into existence. The Lord continued to speak to Pastor Dana to contact his former student Min. Broderick Price to come aboard as the youth pastor. Min. Broderick accepted the position and all the pieces were coming together. Deacon Kenneth and Pastor Dana began to buy musical equipment from their own personal finances. As we began to worship, Min. Brodrick also became the praise and worship leader. God continued to bless us by sending us our first musician, Sis.Tish Colbert, who served with us for as long as she could.
Pastor Dana realized that the 8:00am worship was not working for us, so he decided to move the worship up one hour to 9:00am; in turn, Sis.Tish could no longer assist us because of the new time. God blessed us with brother Darnell Craig and Pastor Dana continued to push the church forward. God continued to add to the church. Pastor Dana was seeking a Chief of Staff and God sent brother David McKnight.
God has supplied us with our every need. We have been at this location since our first worship. Through the ups and downs of disappointments, God is still speaking; the latest word from the Lord is, "Let's RISE AND BUILD", and we will continue this great work until the Lord says well done.
