The Eastside Community News Fund
The Eastside Community News Fund will be used to help pay for the ongoing cost of producing community news, local government coverage and information by the staff at The Eastsider, a hyperlocal newsroom covering the Eastside neighborhoods of Los Angeles.
All reader support — monthly and one-time — will go into the Eastside Community News Fund, which supports our reporting on local government and Eastside communities and people. We will publish a brief report with our quarterly updates, showing how much we have raised and how much was spent to cover the news.
Among the uses for the funds:
Salaries and benefits for reporters, editors and support staff
Freelance fees for writers, photographers, data journalists, researchers, etc;
Computers, cameras and other equipment related to editorial coverage
Mileage, Freedom of Information requests and other expenses related to editorial coverage
Online services related to editorial coverage
Career training and education for staff
We hope we can count on your support to keep the Eastside informed and connected.
