Hello! I'm Heather and I am the Founder of The HOPE Collaborative!
With almost 13 years in active recovery, and now as the mama of an addict, my life has been significantly impacted by the love, support and acceptance of the many others who came before me; those who paid it forward.
One of the founding principles in recovery (AND HUMANITY….HELLOOOOO!) is the selfless service of others once you have broken free of your chains. To share your experience and to offer compassion, wisdom and resources as you walk alongside those who are trying to break free of theirs. ☺️
My own life was saved in 2012 when, after battling a brutal opioid addiction and being subjected to years of financial and emotional abuse,🥺I was lovingly welcomed with open arms into Heather's Haven; a safe house for women battling addiction, mental health crisis' and domestic violence.
It was the HOPE that I needed to break the chains, and I NEVER returned to the place that had nearly taken my life. ⛓
That's why I founded The HOPE Collaborative. 🩷
Our long-term goal is to provide affordable, well supervised, peer-managed housing for those experiencing economic challenges in Coos County. 🏠
Our short-term goal is to establish ongoing collaboration with area businesses and community champions who are looking for ways to strengthen our world by offering second-chance employment, safe and affordable housing alternatives, grooming services and other basic needs associated with re-establishing a life! 🤝
We've got a big job ahead of us, but we are committed to that cause!
