The Opportunity Zone came to be when community members fought to keep the community center from demolition — and our family stepped forward to acquire, restore and renew the 52,500 sq ft community center.

Since then, we have self-funded significant cleanup and improvements: over 300 yards of trash and debris removed, more than 100 lights replaced, major plumbing updates, 20 roof drains cleared by hand, landscaping restored, and activation of spaces including a 15,500 sq ft basketball court, an e-sports lab, an event space, and a global arts room.

In our first phase of activation, The Opportunity Zone has served over 300 youth, distributed 10,000 gifts in 10 days through our Christmas Drive with Firefighters 4 Kids, and helped feed more than 500 families during the holiday season in partnership with community organizations.

Our $1,000,000 goal will secure multi-year operational sustainability, staffing, programming expansion, and continued facility improvements — ensuring this building remains a permanent platform for access, opportunity, and upward mobility.
