This is WOCA’s first year back — and we did not return quietly.

In just one academic year, we rebuilt, rebranded, and restructured the Women of Color Alliance into a visible, active, and growing force on campus.

This year alone:

Engagement has grown by over 260%
Formal membership increased by nearly 500%
Event attendance has tripled
Our social media and newsletter community have more than doubled

We launched:

A packed General Body Meeting & Networking Kickoff
WOCA Mocha: The Coffeehaus Experience
Our first Annual Holiday Supper Club
A 12 Days of Giving community campaign
The Pre-Law Pathway Summit pipeline program for undergrad & high school students

And this spring, we secured something WOCA has historically never had:
A budget allocation for an alumnae event.

For the first time, we received OE funding and are hosting our Annual LawyHER Brunch on March 18th — a prestige networking space for students, faculty, alumnae, and practitioners.

And at that brunch, we will present something even bigger:

The Inaugural WOCA Luminary Scholarship — $1,000

In collaboration with Professor Shirley Lin, who generously kickstarted this effort with a $500 donation, we are awarding one student $1,000 for excellence in academics, leadership, career commitment, and community uplift.

No other affinity group currently offers a scholarship.

In our very first year back, we are not just hosting events.
We are setting precedent.
We are investing directly in our students.
We are building legacy.

This is not an organization asking for money without impact.
This is an organization that has already done a great deal with very little — and is now asking for support to give that money to someone else.

That is powerful.
That is rare.
That is historic.
