For 50 years, Children First / Communities In Schools of Buncombe County has worked alongside students, families, and schools to help ensure every child has the support they need to succeed.

This work has been shaped and sustained by a community of people who chose to stay including partners, educators, advocates, and donors who have shown up, again and again, for children and families across Buncombe County.

Because of that commitment, students found mentors, families found stability, and schools gained trusted support.

Update: The 50 Year Celebration event scheduled for June 26th at the NC Arboretum will not be taking place. This wasn't an easy decision, but we want to be thoughtful stewards of our resources and believe it's the right call for this moment.

There is more to come as we mark this milestone. We'll be launching a $50k for 50 Years fundraising campaign and hosting a Mix and Mingle later this year, so stay tuned!
