🌍 Our Story

At a time when schools and communities face widening opportunity gaps and increasing polarization, we must ask what it truly means to redefine excellence. Too often young people are burdened with labels like “most likely to fail” or expectations like “you can never fail.” Both limit what it means to be fully human. We need an asset-based vision of education and community that fosters brilliance, resilience, and possibility.

The Eco-Collective is inspired by the vision of Ethel Seiderman, who challenged us to build ecosystems that reward three core values: reciprocal trust, gratitude, and generosity. Guided by these principles, more than 20 social entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders from across the globe are coming together to show what is possible when brilliance and purpose align. From recycled instruments in Paraguay to youth mental health movements in the U.S. to cultural resilience work in Indigenous and Afro-Brazilian communities, each organization brings a unique contribution to our shared future.

The Fall 2025 Eco-Collective Convening is a two-day journey of workshops, breakout sessions, and community musical celebration. Together, we will practice what it means to build a Beloved Community rooted in gratitude, reciprocal trust, and generosity.
