Did you know that Peru has had one of the strictest lockdowns in the world?

Native Peruvian children haven't been able to attend school since 2020 and for many months were not even allowed to go outside, or in public places!

Can you imagine being a small child and no longer allowed to play, go to school, or go out with your family?

Many of these kids have had military soldiers outside their doors and even had to stay home alone!

These circumstances have created severe psychological issues for both children and adults. Also, most families do not have TVs, smartphones, computers, WIFI, or access to any of these educational/entertainment resources making the lockdown even harder.

BUT, we are coming together to change these kids’ lives forever!

We are helping the Andean community of Huandar, located in the Cusco Region of Peru near Pisac (in the Sacred Valley of the Incas). This community is small and does not receive donations like many of the other larger communities in the area.

They feel as if they have been “forgotten”.

Our goal is to provide this indigenous community with a playground plus a recreation area for over 100 children and their families. This project will also attract more tourists and will be the designated area to sell their handmade products/produce, creating economic equality in the area.

Sports and outdoor recreational activities are proven to help with psychological stress and improve physical/mental health. Some children stayed in their homes for months without contact with friends, school activities, or playtime. Now that the laws have become more lenient, we want to bring these privileges to this wonderful community for FREE!

(The native Quechua people in this community depend on sales of their farming and handmade goods but have not been able to create these funds that fulfill their daily needs. They have to travel down to the larger towns which is a highly competitive area and many days they will leave without any money).
