Campaign Overview:
The Legacy Exists, a 501(c)(3) founded by Joe Frazier’s family, is dedicated to honoring the life and impact of the legendary boxer by providing scholarships to the youth for their extra circular activities. The goal of this The Legacy Exists campaign aims to purchase Joe Frazier’s Gym, a Philadelphia and National Historic Landmark in North Philadelphia, from a private investor. We are working to continue Frazier's mission of empowering youth through mentorship, sports and educational programs. This gym was more than a training facility; it was a sanctuary where Joe Frazier provided guidance, support, and inspiration to countless individuals.

Why It Matters:
Joe Frazier’s Gym served as a safe haven for local youth, offering them a place to learn discipline, resilience, and self-worth. Beyond boxing, Joe Frazier was a philanthropist who invested in his community, providing life lessons to those in need. His legacy has continued to shine through various tributes across the City of Philadelphia, including this scholarship fund established by his late daughter, Weatta Frazier Collins. While there is a deep community connection to the building itself, the spirit of the gym lives on through The Legacy Exists, run by some of Frazier's grandchildren. With a shared commitment to service, they are dedicated to carrying forward his vision by empowering the next generation and ensuring the community continues to thrive.

Our Mission and Vision for Joe Frazier’s Gym
Our nonprofit is working to raise $1.5 million to purchase and preserve Joe Frazier’s Gym, transforming it into a thriving community center that honors the legendary boxer’s legacy. Our goal is to ensure this historic space continues to inspire and serve both current and future generations.
Once acquired, we plan to develop the gym into a comprehensive wellness hub tailored to the needs of local residents. Through a phased approach, we will introduce programs focused on physical fitness, financial literacy, career development, and more. This strategy allows us to engage with the community directly and shape services based on their input and priorities. We are excited about the journey ahead and deeply value the support of the community as we work together to build a lasting and impactful resource for all.
