At The McMillan Family Foundation, we know that change starts with people like you. Every act of kindness, every dollar, and every moment of your time brings us closer to achieving our mission of empowering people across the socioeconomic spectrum with education and resources to increase financial literacy, encourage entrepreneurship, and improve health & fitness by advocating for equitable access and financial inclusion.
Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for all.
How you can help power our mission:
In 2022, the median net worth was $285,000 for white families—but only $61,600 for Hispanic households and $44,900 for Black households.
African American adults answer only 38% of basic personal finance questions correctly—compared to 55% for white adults.
Just 9 states require personal finance classes for all high schoolers—leaving many Black and Hispanic-majority schools with less than 10% access.
Over 133 million Americans (≈45%) live with at least one chronic disease.
Black and Hispanic adults aged 60–70 are 1.5 to 2 times more likely to suffer from diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or chronic lung conditions than white adults.
African Americans are 25% more likely to be diagnosed with cancer, and Hispanic Americans face double the risk of developing diabetes.
Black Americans are 14% of the U.S. population, but own just 2.7% of employer businesses.
Black business ownership doubled from 2019–2022, yet barriers to capital still prevent long-term growth.
Women own 49% of new businesses, but women entrepreneurs are 75% less likely to secure equity financing compared to men.
We are not just another nonprofit—we are a bridge. The McMillan Family Foundation focuses on three pillars of empowerment:
Financial Literacy & Empowerment – equipping individuals with budgeting, credit repair, investing, and wealth-building skills.
Health & Fitness & Well‑Being – providing accessible wellness education, fitness training, and preventative health tools.
Entrepreneurship & Business Development – guiding small business owners with training, mentorship, and access to networks.
Our programs are hybrid (online + in‑person) to reach those who need them most—no matter their location or resources.
When you partner with us, you’re investing in proven programs that deliver measurable impact. Together, we can remove systemic barriers and create sustainable change.
